This is a rare example of a naturally formed pounamu Niho (Tooth of the Taniwha)

The Niho is a symbol of leadership, resilience, guardianship and protection.

I personally found this special piece in our local river in the Te Tau Ihu region and polished it up to how it is today, as seen in the photos I have left the rear of the stone raw so that the part touching the chest will gradually over time absorb the wearers oils binding your connection with the stone forever meaning it can be passed down for generations, these stones very durable and have been around for millions of years.

*Connection to heritage*: For Māori people, pounamu is a tangible link to their ancestors and cultural identity.
*Symbolism*: Pounamu represents strength, courage, and resilience.

*Protection*: Pounamu is believed to offer protection and guidance to the wearer.
*Spiritual growth*: It's thought to promote spiritual growth, well-being, and balance.

*Family heirloom*: Pounamu necklaces are often passed down through generations, serving as a family treasure.
*Special occasions*: Great given as gifts to mark important life events, such as births, weddings, or milestones.

Pounamu necklaces are prized for their natural beauty and unique patterns
